Since December, the information campaign “Getting Organic Waste Right” that fosters the introduction of organic waste collection in 12 districts in the city has been carrying out numerous informative activities to inform all residents in these districts.
One of the most successful actions has been the setting up of information booths (two weeks in each district) with educators offering residents information. More than 9,500 people have visited these booths and over 8,000 organic waste kits have been distributed. The districts of Villaverde, Villa de Vallecas and Latina were those with the greatest number of visitors.
As a result of this success, and to continue spreading campaign-related information to the widest possible number of persons, we are again putting up booths in 9 districts, this time inside municipal markets:
DISTRIT | LOCATION |
ARGANZUELA | Mercado Santa María de la Cabeza |
VILLAVERDE | Mercado de Villaverde |
PUENTE DE VALLECAS | Mercado de Puente de Vallecas |
TETUÁN | Mercado de San Enrique |
CHAMBERÍ | Mercado de Vallehermoso |
LATINA | Mercado Tirso de Molina |
VICÁLVARO | Mercado de Vicálvaro |
VILLA DE VALLECAS | Mercado Villa de Vallecas |
LATINA | Mercado de Alto de Extremadura |
MONCLOA-ARAVACA | Mercado de Argüelles |
CHAMBERÍ | Mercado de Chamberí |
CIUDAD LINEAL | Mercado de Las Ventas |
Since 11 March, and for one week, anyone going to the markets of Villaverde, Puente de Vallecas and Arganzuela was able to visit the booths for information on separating organic waste and for answers to any doubts about how to correctly separate it from other waste that is produced in the home.
These information points, which will rotate around the markets in 9 districts over the coming weeks, will distribute different materials related to organic waste separation: visual materials and guidelines for correctly separating waste, an organic waste kit for easier separation in the home or pencil holders, amongst others.
To see the locations, dates and exact timetables of the stands in each district we advise you to take a look at the map in the “The Campaign” section of our website or follow our Twitter account @AciertaOrganica, where we will update all the information about this activity.
Anyone who might need further information about separating organic waste is encouraged to visit us at the markets!
